It's the eve of my favorite day of the week, and I'm pumped in more ways than one! I spent most of the last week in bed ill with round-the-clock nausea and extreme fatigue. But this week, I'm back in action, feeling productive, and in the gym working out again. YES! I've been drinking and testing out TEN Alkaline Spring Water by Alkalife and truly believe it's helped me recover and return to feeling better more quickly than I would have without it.
TEN Alkaline Spring Water is sourced from natural springs found in underwater caves in Georgia and Virginia that contain no fluoride and a little calcium. They are infused with minerals and electrolytes to bring the pH level to 10 and then bottled to enjoy. (BPA-Free Bottles)
What does a pH level of 10 mean and why does it matter? To break it down in simple terms, the pH scale ranges from 1 to 13. One on the scale is highest in acid, 13 is most alkaline, and 7 being neutral. A pH level of 10 (8 to 13 = more to most alkaline) is moderately alkaline.
Too far in either direction of the pH scale can cause adverse effects. Stomach issues, skin conditions, bone and organ complications can often be the result of too much acid in your system. But many of these issues can be addressed and resolved with the right pH alkaline level in your water as a result of adding the right amount of needed minerals and electrolytes (ions in the body that carry electric energy for many necessary body functions like muscle contraction).
You lose minerals and electrolytes throughout the day naturally. The more you sweat, the more you lose. And, if you're sick with the flu or a bug like a vomiting virus, you lose these necessary chemicals much faster. We've all experienced what happens to the body when it's in a state like this - CRAMPING! Muscle cramping is your body's way of telling you that it's low in electrolytes and other minerals needed to function at its optimum level.
Alkalife TEN is at a pH level of 10, It's slightly higher than neutral on the scale. That means it will help balance the pH for your body. This promotes healthy body function which in turn means feeling better. And, it actually tastes good, like water should, in addition to hydrating the body more effectively.
TEN passed the taste test with flying colors among all four of my family members, including me, of course, as well as Alisha, a personal trainer and fitness competitor at my gym. TEN tastes so good that my children and husband, who are particularly picky, drank almost all of a 24-pack before I even got to crack open my first bottle! It tastes clean and with no bitterness, saltiness, or strange aftertaste like other waters do that contain higher electrolytes and minerals.
