Hi, all! I went for a quick three-day trip to Las Vegas, Nevada last week to meet up with my husband after a conference he attended. I think two or three days in Vegas is really all you need to see some shows, do a little gambling (for us, very little), and enjoy some time lounging at the pool. Vegas is the perfect quick, fun getaway.
We always stay at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. Aside from it being an elegant and gorgeous hotel, it has many restaurants, cafes, shopping galore, huge casino, spa, and multiple beautiful pools with pool-side food and cocktail service.
Shortly after arriving, my husband and I went to dinner at Wolfgang Puck's Cut, Las Vegas in The Venetian. It was truly outstanding. It's upscale and pricey dining, but worth it! Steak is my favorite meal above all. But, I'm extremely particular. Many of the known-for-steak restaurants I've visited leave me disappointed and puzzled and wondering why so many people rave about their mediocre, dry, and flavorless cuts of beef.
Cut left me shocked, happy, and satisfied. We started with the Warm Asparagus and Maple Glazed Pork Belly for appetizers. Both were delicious. For our entree, my husband and I both chose the 9 Ox. American Wagyu Rib Eye Steak with a side of Cavatappi Pasta "Mac & Cheese." The steak and pasta were perfection. The dessert menu looked amazing with a variety of crumbles, shortcake doughnuts, and pie, but we left no room to enjoy any and only ordered coffee. Hopefully we'll be able to taste test some during our next visit, and I'll be sure to report to you on those.
We took in a couple of shows during the trip. The first, our absolute favorite to date, was Absinthe Las Vegas. It's an adult, cabaret-style show hosted by The Gazzillionaire and assistant, Penny Pibbets (both hilarious) in a huge tent outside of Caesars Palace full of magnificent stunts, acrobatics, dance, and mature (the raunchy, adult kind) comedy. The acts in the show were amazing and performed by a stunning and talented cast. If you are looking for some adult fun filled with laughs, visit HERE to purchase your tickets for Absinthe.
The second, and very disappointing, show that we went to was Michael Jackson ONE Cirque De Soleil. The talented cast was great, but the show seemed to be all over the place and make very little sense. The music, of course, was great as was the dancing and entertainment. It was the lack of a clear story line that caused it to fall short for us and not worth the ticket price. I'd recommend seeing it if you're a big fan of Michael Jackson, but only expect an average show. For information and ticket pricing, visit HERE.
Our final day in Las Vegas was spent lounging by the pool, enjoying a few cocktails, reading and relaxing after sleeping in and enjoying a late brunch. It was the perfect ending to our quick vacation. - Jill xoxo
