October 2016 Favs & Flops

Fall is now well underway, and the month of October brought a few new beauty, style and fashion favorites and only one flop. Beauty products weren't as exciting as they usually are for me last month, but I still managed to find some gems.

FAVES

Morphe 350 - 35 Color Natural Glow Eyeshadow Palette - This is my first Morphe palette, and I can see why Jaclyn Hill raves about it. It has 35 different colors in both warm and cooler tones as well as matte and shimmer shades. The shadows blend easily and are very pigmented with little fallout. It's a palette that you will reach for time and time again and can create many different looks. And it's very inexpensive for the quality and quantity ~ just over $20!

Murad Complete Reform with Glyco Firming Complex - This serum contains Beta-carotene to improve elasticity and reduce the signs of lines and wrinkles and Glycolic acid to exfoliate. This Murad serum is found in their Age Reform line. I have tested three products from this line over the last few months and all are part of my daily skin routine now.

Tom Ford Illuminating Primer - I have tried primer after primer hoping to find a better one because this one is expensive. But, nothing has come close for me. This primer is sheer, lightweight and makeup sets beautifully over it. It gives your skin radiance while giving your foundation staying power. It doesn't have a strange smell or silicone feel to it. It is simply a beautiful primer.

Charlotte Tilbury 'Cheek to Chic' Swish & Pop Blush - I have the color 'First Love,' and it's such a beautiful natural color with a hint of mauve but very neutral. It's just the right amount of color and warmth. It blends so easily and stays in place all day. This blush is the newest item I've purchased in her line and none of her products have disappointed yet. I also recommend her 'Lip Cheat' Lip Liner, K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick, 'Lip Lustre' lip gloss, and 'Eyes to Mesmerise' Cream Eyeshadows. The quality is outstanding, packaging is beautiful and her color choices ~ perfect.

Erborian BB Creme - I've been using this BB cream every day. It's like wearing no foundation at all, but the coverage is amazing and makes your skin look flawless. And what makes this product even more amazing is how soft it makes your skin feel. The description online and packaging claims for it to have a 'baby skin' effect and, for sure, it does. I have other foundations and CC creams that I like, but this one is my favorite.

Diptyque 'Feu de Bois/Wood Fire' Candle - This is a beautiful scented candle for Fall and the approaching holiday season. It's warm, woodsy, and makes you want to snuggle up by a fire with a big mug of hot cocoa.

J. Crew 'Rider' Italian Leather Mini Bag - This bag was a disappointment to me when it first arrived. It was much smaller than I thought it would be, and I almost sent it back. I didn't because it was a beautiful handbag with soft leather and amazing craftsmanship. It's a small bag, but fits everything you need. The strap is adjustable to convert it from a cross body bag into either a handbag or shoulder bag. I'll definitely be purchasing more of J. Crew's handbags, a new favorite.

Vince Camuto Salest 2 Pumps in leopard - These are the perfect heel height at 3.5 inches in calfhair leopard print. They are trimmed in black with print in light tan, camel and chocolate brown, so they go with everything. You can wear them with jeans, dresses and even Zella yoga pants!

Mother Denim - I bought my first pair of Mother jeans in October, and they will not be my last pair from this line. I purchased 'The Looker' Frayed Ankle Skinny Jeans in 'Guilty as Sin.' These distressed, black jeans have a higher waist, fit so well and are very comfortable. The Mother stretch jeans also stay in place, so you aren't constantly pulling them up. They're a premium-priced jean that lives up to the cost.

FLOPS

Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation - I'm not sure if the color wasn't right or the fact that I love my Erborian BB Creme so much, but I wasn't crazy about this foundation at all. I ended up returning it. It was a very small tube for the price, and it felt a little thick and tough to blend. I also had a few minor breakouts following use. It just didn't work for me.
